busy busy Kenley.

Kenley has had such an eventful few days, not all of it was fun filled though. Last Thursday, she had her 4 month shots. She did amazing. I was nervous since Andrew had to work. At her two month shots, Andrew was able to be the bad guy and hold her arms down. And when she started crying it was like no cry I had heard before. So going alone this time was a bit upsetting. She weighed in at a big girl 18lbs and 10oz and is 25 3/4 inches long. She got 3 shots and a liquid vaccine and she did great. Cried for a second then I picked her up and she was all smiles. Way to go big baby!

The plan was to come home after the appointment and then log in to work and get some things done. When I got home there wasn't much happening at work so I decided to leave early and then log in once I got to my parents house around 3. The trip started off great, Kenley took a two hour nap. But then she woke up. And screamed. And screamed. And screamed. For the rest of the trip. Yes, I stopped and changed her and fed her. But she was not happy in the back by herself. It was a stressful 2 hours and of course the exit I needed to get off at on 95 was backed up because of an accident. Pretty sure there were tears from other people besides Kenley.

We got to my parents house and Kenley decided she was going to act like a big kid. My mom got her to laugh for the first time. I have gotten a few chuckles but never one right after another. Kenley laughing had me laughing/crying. Hilarious. I keep trying to get more laughs but I can only get one. Apparently, I am not funny. She also got to use her high chair for the first time! It has been in my old room since we bought it last Thanksgiving.

AND she sat in a shopping cart for the first time. She loved shopping with us in the cart.

On Friday, I worked from home all day but was able to take Kenley to Chantilly Academy to see all of her Academy friends. Last time she saw everyone was in June at the end of the school year. She showed everyone how much she loves to squeal.

Kenley helped Grandma Lucy move apartments this weekend too. Well, she napped and played on the floor while we sorted through boxes, closets, dressers, drawers.... you name it, it was full of stuff to look through.

We did find some really cool keepsakes. It was a long afternoon but it needed to get done.

On the way home, Dad called and said Betsy Lane was barricaded off by police cars and we could not get down the street. I am still not to sure what happened, something about serving a warrant to someone and there were hostages? Really? In Fairfax County? Erika was gracious enough to let us come over and give Kenley her bath. Luckily, Erika had given Kenley some new pajamie jams that morning so we got her all set for bed.

On our return trip to Virginia Beach, I left when we got back from her 4 month picture appointment at Portrait Innovations. She was really tired so I thought it would be a perfect time to leave. She ate a bit, closed her eyes and we packed up and left. She slept for a good 45 minutes, enough time to get on 95. Woke up, started screaming. I made sure she had a full tummy and clean diaper but she cried until we got to 64, which is an hour and a half later. By the time I got home, I was exhausted and drained. AND I had caught Kenley's cold Saturday morning and was still feeling yucky.

Kenley stayed home with me on Monday and Tuesday since I wasn't feeling well. I worked from home both days and enjoyed some more time with my baby. I wish I could spend every day with her at home. Too bad tax season is approaching....

Just a few more photos.

Tummy time!

She learned this from her baby school buddy "fat-daddy." He takes frequent rests during tummy time.

This was from this morning, she looked adorable in her sweatsuit. Perfect weather for all the hoodies I have been buying her.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! :)

Happy 4 month Birthday Peanut!

It was a pretty uneventful day for Kenley. She went to baby school, had an explosion which required a change of clothes (and they even washed her outfit there which NEVER happens, so it must have been bad), we went to Target, the verizon store and ate some Qdoba. She even chuckled a bit as we were driving home and then proceeded to cry. What a wild and crazy day!

Happy 4 month birthday Kenley!

rice cereal FAIL.

Kenley watched her first Redskins game on Sunday. Yes, they lost but she enjoyed the bright colors and things moving on the tv screen. She prepared for her first Skins game by napping all afternoon and being super cute.

Tuesday night, Kenley tried Rice cereal for the first time. I took a video but do not have the patience tonight to upload it to the blog.... blogger takes forever if the video is over a minute. And I have just started doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred so I am exhausted. Here are some pictures of Kenley's first spoonfuls -- needless to say she loved it but more practice on swallowing is in order!

Kenley looked so cute before baby school this morning. She made it ALL day in this outfit! Well, until about 4pm when I went to go get her and she was butt naked on the changing table getting a full wipe down after an explosion. Ha!

The days have been coming and going so quickly, there are so many pictures to share. I will have to choose my favorites and find the ones that can show you what Kenley is up to now. Ready? Here we go.

Kenley got to try out my old rock-a-dog when we were on Betsy Lane.

blowin bubbles with Grammy

Working on her back muscles, sitting in her bebePod chair.

Like usual, having a blast in her jumperoo.

Chillin with dad.

Somewhere around here, she began really holding onto toys and being able to take them from you. Her hand-eye coordination is getting better each day, she is really moving quickly into the stage where she grabs things and then puts them in her mouth.

Photo shoot day!

Look at those jowls.

photo shoot #2

In this picture, she looks like a Paradise baby.

Lots of pictures these days with hands in her mouth. We are lucky if we get a few smiles sans fists.

Looking like a big kid in her school outfit.

Playing with dad, trying to get a laugh out of her.

Concentrating on her sitting skills.

I think her hair is falling out and being replaced with short blonde hair.... ?

This is one of her new favorite toys, made of natural rubber and made for her to chew on. Sophie the giraffe. Gibbs loves it too -- it honks. Kind of a problem.

This past Friday, Saturday AND Sunday night Kenley slept from 7:45-8ish until 4-5am. Each night, I was sure she would be getting up any time but no no. She was a tired baby. Then of course, when I had to go into work on Wednesday, Tuesday night she was up a lot. She is spending most of the night though in her crib so that is good. Maybe in a few weeks, she will be consistent with her sleep patterns and make it a habit to sleep from 8pm-4am. Let's all hope that wish comes true.

Today could be considered a big day for Kenley. We are now in a ***fuzzy area*** of how to calculate her age, at least I think so. She is 16 weeks old today. Now, if we wanted to believe that 4 weeks = 1 month then she is 4 months old, no? When do I start using the day of the month that she was born? I was going to start doing that this month, except the 21st is another week and a half away. So is she not 4 months old yet? I guess not.

It has been a while since I have posted... home life is busy, not enough time in the day to do everything I want. The evenings go by so fast now, I want them to last longer so I have more time to play with Kenley. My plan is to post some of Kenley's recent pictures but that will have to wait until later tonight when she is sleeping and I am waiting for this weeks Project Runway to start.

In the mean time, what am I currently drooling over admiring? Take a look...

Hopefully, tomorrow (read: pay day!) I will purchase Kenley her new hamper. The pink polka dot one to be specific. It will definitely have to have her name on it. Pretty sure she can use this thing well into her school age years.

How cool is this?! I saw this today on Babble.com I can turn Kenley's drawings into keychains!

Maybe I really just want that random kid's drawing on a keychain.

Sure, I can jump on board with believing that certain patterns on the wall can help babies development.

But I also like these which I guess don't help development but are super cute.

If Kenley was 2 years old this halloween, this is what she would be. That little kid is so funny, I love the picture of him running away. I need a gnome this halloween! Who can I convince to dress their child up like this....

Once again, GraciousMay makes an appearance on this blog. I really do love her shoe creations. Once it starts to really feel like fall, I will buy her these. Looooove.

If I had a big play room, like a basement or office area I would have bought this lamp already. Ok, maybe not since it is uber pricey. But I would try to make something just like it. So fun!

Why, oh why have I not seen this book until now? How can you not just automatically love this book?

That is all for today... there is work to be done! Kenley's pictures will be added later tonight.
