On the go!

Kenley is so quick these days. She loves to follow me around the downstairs, explore our bedroom and take off down the hall... Now that she takes some steps on her own, it's only a matter of time before she is running through the house.

One of her new favorite things to do is to stand against our glass doors and smack them. She loved when Andrew was outside grilling and they played on opposite sides of the glass.
My mom and dad came to visit this past weekend. We celebrated my Mom's birthday with some cards, presents and I made a cake! We headed to lunch at our favorite local BBQ spot, Smoked From Above and had an excellent meal. The girls then continued shopping while Andrew and my Dad went back to the house. Andrew is taking two classes towards his bachelor's degree so he is super busy with his school work load.

Mom and I wanted to check out a local craft fair that was going on, hoping there would be some fun local stuff. We were sorely disappointed. It was a sad display. Lots of crafty-country-crap. Good thing we didn't pay to get in. I would have requested a refund.

We took Kenley to the swings in the afternoon to get some fresh air. She had a good time... until rain started falling on her head. Just a few drops but they came out of nowhere.

Like Kenley's new kicks? I just got them this weekend, they are so cute!

See? We thought it was still sunny out and then...

we looked to the other side of the sky. Boo-urns.

The next day we wanted to go the Norfolk Botanical Garden but again the sky was not cooperating. It was a bit chilly and looked like it was going to rain at any moment, so we decided to skip the garden... We ended up going to the VB Farmer's Market and to the Princess Anne Park. Kenley played a bit on this bridge but she is still a bit young to really enjoy the rest of the playground fun.

Ode to Craiglist:
Oh, Craigslist, how I love you so.
I find amazing baby toys for so little dough.
Why buy her toys brand new from the store,
when I find great bargains and don't have to be poor.

I found a Fisher Prince Laugh 'N Learn Kitchen in the Virginia Beach area and picked it up this weekend. It is so cute, it has a faucet that makes running water sounds, a fridge that makes open and close sounds, a light with a light switch, an oven, a radio (which gives you the traffic report for the Rainbow highway!!!!!), a toaster.... I could go on. Kenley really seems to like it, even though she doesn't quite understand the function of the toy as a play kitchen. I am so happy with it, we payed only 1/3 of what it would have cost at Amazon.com

That is a quick catch up of our last week.

Stay tuned, we have a big event happening this week. :)
